Course Description:
Syllabus
This is a mini-course intended to provide students with an overview of topology
as it applies to condensed matter physics.
Topics may include:
- Berry phase
- Chern numbers and other invariants
- Quantum Hall Effect
- 2D and 3D Topological insulators
- Dirac and Weyl semimetals
- Skyrmions
- Majorana fermions
- Mathematical underpinnings of topology
- Symmetry
Grading:
Grades will be based on in-class participation, homework, and presentations.
